Is your treadmill belt worn, torn or curling up on the edges? Does your treadmill slow down after you step on the belt and begin your workout?

If this is the case then it may be time to replace the belt. Here are some thing to check before replacing your belt.

You need to make sure the deck of the treadmill is in good shape. If it looks good then it may only need to be waxed or lubricated.

If the deck shows obvious signs of wear, or has grooves worn into it then you may need to replace the belt and the deck.

If the deck looks good, and the belt is worn or starting to turn up on the edges then it is time to replace the belt. Here are the instructions for doing that. Most treadmills are basically the same so this is a generic set of instructions. If you have an owners manual please follow the manufacturers instructions.

To begin the belt replacement unplug the POWER Cord and remove the motor cover or hood. Then locate the screws or bolts that are used to adjust the belt tension. They are normally on either side at the rear of the treadmill. Loosen both sides and push the rear roller toward the deck.

Now loosen and remove the front roller. If your treadmill inclines, turn on the power and raise the treadmill a few degrees so the roller can be removed. After the front roller is removed, remove the rear roller. Now you are ready to remove the belt.

I know it would be easier to just cut the old belt off, but if you take it off in one piece then you will remember how to put the new one on. Along the sides of the treadmill you will find bolts or screws that hold the deck in place. Remove these and lift the deck and old belt out together. Now is the time to wax or lubricate the deck.

Look at the old belt and the new belt. There will probably be a visible seam on the belt. Normally the belt should be installed so that the seam goes downward from left to right, much like a backward slash. Some belt manufacturers will mark the belt on the inside with an arrow pointing in the direction the belt should travel.

Slide the belt over the deck in the proper alignment and lay the belt and deck together back onto the treadmill. Start all of the screws or bolts before tightening them securely. Decks tend to get warped after a while so you may need to push or pull a little to get the screws started. I have found that it is a good idea to install the rollers before securely fastening the deck to the frame.

Pull the belt to the rear of the treadmill and slide the rear roller through it. Start the adjusting screws in the roller just enough so they do not fall out. Now slide the front roller inside the belt and replace the drive motor belt over the drive gear. Do this before you tighten the roller. After you get the front roller tight, then tighten the rear roller with the adjusting screws. Tighten each side equally until the belt feels snug on the deck.

Now turn the treadmill on. If the belt starts moving, carefully step on the treadmill while holding the side rails. If the belt stops then you need to adjust more. Step off the treadmill, and tighten each screw one full turn and step on the belt again. Repeat this process until the belt does not stop.

Now increase the speed to a fast walk, hold the handrails and apply downward pressure as you walk on the treadmill. If the belt stops or hesitates then adjust some more. Now increase the speed to a jog, probably around five m.p.h. Once again if you feel hesitation in the belt when your foot hits it, adjust it some more. Continue this process until you are satisfied that the belt is not slipping.

PLEASE be careful, if you do not think you can do this then pay someone to do it for you.

Please follow these directions for safe and efficient use of your treadmill for you and your family.

The procedures for checking these items are all in the Free Treadmill Report! http://www.treadmills.cc

Paul Webb–Paul has been in the medical and fitness repair business for almost thirty years. So he has seen many of the problems associated with treadmills and fitness equipment. Paul also does repairs in homes and businesses

A mesh belt dryer for drying printed content comprising a drying chamber, a plurality of conveyor belts owning initially and 2nd stops, the conveyor belts located significantly inside of the drying chamber, a motor adapted to drive the plurality of conveyor belts, and also a burner adapted to provide heated air into the drying chamber.

A single solution to cure and dry the ink should be to heat it. There have already been a lot of kinds of dryers beforehand employed. The most common are electric or gasoline dryers. The fuel and electrical mesh belt dryer make warmth which cures and dries the ink. Whilst these dryers are effective, they are very cumbersome.

The dryers are commonly twenty feet in size. If much more drying is preferred, the duration of your dryer is accelerated. So, the dryers just take up important floor room in a printing facility which might be put to extra effective use. The dryer of your existing creation lessens the expected duration from the dryer by using a number of conveyor belts which are organized atop one an additional.

The article enters the dryer for the major conveyor belt, is transferred towards the lessen conveyor belts within just the mesh belt dryer, and exits the dryer in the bottom conveyor belt. This arrangement allows to get a greater retention time inside the dryer though concurrently minimizing the dryer size.

The mesh belt dryer on the current invention comprises a drying chamber, a plurality of conveyor belts possessing very first and 2nd stops, the conveyor belts located considerably inside of the drying chamber, a motor adapted to drive the plurality of conveyor belts, and a burner adapted to provide heated air to the drying chamber.

3. Showcase Your Karate Belt on the Coffee Table or Side Table in a Stacking Belt Display

If you’ve got restricted space to utilize (an office or bedroom, for example), using a circular stacking martial arts belt case to keep all of the belts will be the approach to take. This type of display would be a wonderful gift idea for a trainer as well as loved one that would like to display their karate belts off in their home or at their workplace. You will love just how prestigious they look sitting on a desktop or dresser.

At some point, you might want to choose a single karate belt display to truly showcase that newly acquired black belt that you’ve spent long years earning. For now, to be able to pay tribute to the accomplishments you’ve made through the belts rankings is important and shouldn’t be considered lightly.

Take the time to determine exactly how you want to showcase your martial arts belts and either purchase a display or even make one yourself. If somebody you like is actually a martial art student, you may want to think about getting them a belt case. Karate belt racks or holders really do make some of the best taekwondo gifts!

Years ago, the National Association of Professional Martial Artists ran a black-and-white ad of a student throwing a great jump side kick under a great headline, “Kids Don’t Seem to Mind Our Summer School.” The ad was a big hit. Schools reported 40 to 60 phone calls, more than they had ever received.

Some members, though, wanted to cancel because they didn’t do that technique. Others complained because they wore white uniforms, but the kid in the ad was in a black and grey gi. This is a classic example of Black Belt Eyes.

<ins><ins id="aswift_1_anchor"></ins></ins> Black Belt Eyes are natural and good. It’s just important that we be aware of when they might be getting in the way of what we are trying to accomplish, which is to attract and keep students.

Black Belt Eyes illustrate how the Core Dynamics are reflected in what we do. In most cases, Black Belt Eyes are based upon false assumptions. For instance, with the jump side kick ad, the guys who canceled may have feared that a mom would bring the ad in and want to enroll their child, but would want to see a demonstration of the kick or the actual uniform that is in the ad.

Of course, that never happens, but we are so deeply connected to our systems that our Black Belt Eyes often get in the way of our more useful Market Eyes. Black Belt Eyes assumed people would see they wore a different color uniform or wouldn’t recognize the technique. Market Eyes are the eyes of your potential students, who don’t know a jump side kick from a jumping jack.

When Black Belt Eyes see an ad with a jump side kick, they are drawn to the most important aspect of the ad for black belts. It’s not the headline, the copy, or the offer. Black Belt Eyes will check to make sure the kid has his foot bladed and the other foot is tucked.

That’s not a bad thing. It reflects your standards as a black belt. But if you choose not to run that ad because you don’t do jump kicks, then your Black Belt Eyes may have cost you 40 to 60 phone calls which should have converted to 20 to 30 new students.

Black Belt Eyes work against you when you assume that a person with little or no martial arts experience will feel the same about it as you do.

A Black Belt Eyes ad will have someone getting kicked in the head. The owner knows that one of life’s simple pleasures is wrapping your foot around someone’s head with a hook or round kick. The readers, however, with their Market Eyes, may translate that image into what will happen to them at that school. They can’t even imagine getting their leg up that high, so they are not identifying with the kicker.

Black Belt Eyes tell the market what it needs instead of listening to the market and giving it what it wants. Black Belt Eyes show that we care about what we do. They are not bad, but you have to be aware of them. Most of all, recognize when they get in your way.

Our Black Belt Eyes lead us to believe that our students will be good because they know more, but again, more is not better. Better is better. Fewer requirements make better students and aid retention, because students who feel they are doing well are happy students and stay in the school. Competence leads to confidence.

Just remember that Market Eyes pay the bills. The next time your spouse or significant other makes the suggestion that tying students together with a belt and having them spar may not be a good move, take a deep breath, listen, and say, “Thank you. Good point.”

Jiu Jitsu belts are very important in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to help determine fighters progress in the sport. The Jiu Jitsu belts are given out as awards to students for their achievements and as a means of goal setting.

You may ask if there is a specific move or set of moves you must learn to do to get your higher belt, well the answer is no. What it takes to get your higher belt is a mystery that only your instructor will know when you are ready and be the final judge of that.

In Bjj, getting belts is an honor given to you by your instructor and in no way will anyone ask the instructor when he/she will get their new belt out of respect. If one were to do so, it would show severe disrespect to Jiu Jitsu and especially your instructor. In parts of Brazil you would get slapped by your instructor or beaten up by other students for asking.

Everyone starts out as a white belt working towards getting the next belt higher which is the blue belt. Although, there is no set rules on what it takes to get your blue belt there is some idea people may have. Generally, to graduate as a white belt and go on to your blue belt you must understand the basic techniques necessary.

It is like building a foundation in anything. Without a foundation a building will fall, so once your instructor decides you have the basics down then he will promote you. Some basic moves are escapes like hip escape, mount escape, side mount escape, etc. However, once you get your blue belt you are no longer working on your basics and more of developing your own game.

At this point your instructor may teach you certain tricks, yet you may decide to do them another way. This is because you will be developing your own game. Working towards your higher Jiu Jitsu belts all the way to your black belt will take years of training but will be well worth it. The Jiu Jitsu belts requirements for every school or association is pretty similar though, which is why people are around the same level in competition.

Karate is a martial art form which originated in Japan and involves various techniques of punching, kicking, locking, and knee and elbow striking. It is a striking art which can be practiced as a sport, combat sport or as a self defense training.

However the traditional karate emphasizes more on self defense, helping an individual to develop better reflexes, as well as provide a full body workout. Though karate is more about the different fighting techniques and karate moves, one thing that can not go unnoticed is the different colored karate belts.

With colors varying from simple black and white to vibrant yellow and blue, karate belts always catch attention and signify the rank of the practitioner wearing them. Before knowing what is the order of karate belt colors, let us first have a brief idea on its history.

Karate Belt Colors: History

Kano Jigoro, the founder of judo, introduced the colored belt ranking system in order to denote his students’ rank and progress. Initially, there was no specific visible way to differentiate between yudansha (dan ranks) and mudansha (initiates who hadn’t yet attained dan ranks).

Kano invented this ranking system in 1883 when he awarded his students ‘shodan or dan ranks’. In those times, black and while obis (sash for traditional Japaneses dress) were worn with uniform kimono (a loose robe) in order to differentiate between the yudansha and mudansha.

In 1907, Kano introduced the modern gi and its modern obi using the traditional white and black colors, though other martial arts forms later adopted the custom or variation of it and started using different colored sashes to indicate the ranks. However, there are no universal rules to confirm which belt color signifies which particular color. Hence, each martial arts form has its own belt color order in accordance to its rank structure.

Karate Belt Colors: Order

Corresponding to the rank, karate belt colors tend to progress from lightest to darkest. Hence, to know which colors signify which ranks, check out the below given standard karate belt colors in order.

White Belt
The belt that signifies the beginning of a karate training is white belt. Since, white color represents purity, the belt is given to a novice learner who has no prior knowledge of this field.

Yellow Belt
The yellow belt is given to a karate beginner who has started taking control of his life, body and environment. The colors yellow and orange symbolize sunrise and a new birth just as a seed begins to grow, and at times the belt is also represented by the color orange.

Green Belt
As color green symbolizes the color of spring, growth as if a green plant sprouts out of the ground, the green belt is given to a karate student who has entered the growing process of training. At this point, the student has built up a firm foundation and is ready to learn more advanced stages.

Blue Belt
At times, also represented by the color purple, the color blue or purple signifies the color of sky. Hence, the blue belt is given to students in order to remind that they have to reach for the heavens and so have to continue their journey with lots of dedication and hard work.

Brown Belt
The brown or red belt which symbolizes the color of sun and blood, is given to the karate students when they are able to create their own techniques and can start imitating the advanced and complicated techniques and mannerisms from the higher belts.

Black Belt
The highest ranking karate belt is the black belt. Since, color black can absorb all other colors, the belt symbolizes that the student has deep knowledge of all the preceding levels and has mastered the training.

To sum up, we can say that karate belt colors are the result or way of showing commitment and discipline to this form of martial arts. Hence, each belt has to be earned to be worn, and it takes a number of years to accomplish and attain the highest level of karate, the black belt.

The process of serpentine belt replacement is easy to carry out, provided that the necessary precautions and steps are undertaken carefully. In order to understand how to replace a serpentine belt, it is necessary to know a little bit about the belt.

Serpentine Belt
It is a belt used in automotive engines for driving peripheral devices like the power steering pump, alternator, A/C compressor, water pump, air pump, etc. A belt tensioner, idler pulley or both of these are required to guide the movement of the belt. Mr. Jim Vance invented the serpentine belt. The Ford Motor company used the belt for the first time for the ‘Mustang’ in the year 1979. The serpentine belt can bear tension and thus, possesses high mechanical efficiency as compared to the ‘V’-belt.

Replacing Serpentine Belt
The serpentine belt should be replaced every 4 years or after the vehicle covers 30,000 to 60,000 miles. The belt should be inspected in order to carry out any replacement activity. The belt should be replaced if it shows cracks, cuts, deterioration of the edges or is noisy. If one can find the exact problem other than wear and tear, it does help for the replacement or to help the new belt last longer. Let us understand how to replace a serpentine belt.

How Much Should it Cost to Replace a Serpentine Belt
The cost of the serpentine should be around $30-$50. The labor charge for the replacement of this belt is $50. Thus, it would be feasible to learn how to replace a serpentine belt tensioner and the ‘S’-belt to save money.

Removal
Before one starts removing the belt, the service manual for that particular automobile should be referred. The belt tensioners are tightly sprung and thus, one should avoid any kind of ‘slips’, which may cause serious injury. A specially designed service tool should be used to relieve the tension. The position at which the tool is mounted should be checked properly. The tensioner should ideally be resting on the internal ‘stop’.

The tool might ‘jam’ if it doesn’t come in contact with the tensioner stop before any other component. This could also result into the tool slipping off and can subsequently even cause injury. The belt can be safely removed after releasing the tension. The process of belt removal should start from the largest pulley, since it can be accessed easily. One might need to remove the splash shields before pulling the belt off the assembly.

Once the serpentine belt is removed, the following components should be inspected.

The coolant pump should be checked for leakage. If there is a leakage problem, it results into noise or bad hearing.

The fan clutch should be inspected for fluid leakage and for any kind of damage.

The tensioner should also be inspected. There might be a problem of wearing down of the tensioner mechanism or pulley bearing noise.

It should be checked whether any of the hood components make contact with the tensioner, belt or any of the pulleys.

Reinstalling a Serpentine Belt
During the reinstallation, the process reverse of that of the removal should be carried out. All the necessary precautions mentioned for the removal process should be followed. The belt needs to be routed in the reverse order of that of removal. Care should be taken to see whether the ribs of the belt are set accurately in the pulley grooves. The tensioner position scale should also be checked. If the arrow in the scale is on the ‘tight’ side i.e. on the other half of the tensioner, i.e. between the two lines, the re-installation is perfect.

The serpentine belt, which is also known as the ‘S’- belt, is a better alternative to the ‘V’-belt. The above mentioned process of replacing serpentine belt helps the user in safe removal and reinstallation.

Are you totally impressed by that ab belt ad on TV and tempted to buy one? Read this article on ‘ab belts – do they work’ before you make any purchase.

All of us crave for flat abs or six packs like our favorite celebrities. But, very few of us are actually willing to take pain and effort to get such slim and toned bodies. The rest of us simply want some quick tricks to get rid of fat fast. Needless to say, we are a soft target for innumerable fitness equipment manufacturers. Give us any fancy exercise equipment and slogans with the words ‘quick’, ‘weight loss’ and ‘no exercise’ and see your sales soar.

The current crop of ab belts also fall under the same category. Thanks to impressive advertising and smart marketing, these belts are making their way into every fitness crazy household. However, the real question is do these products deliver what they promise? Let us try to answer the question ‘ab belts – do they work’ in this article.

Electric Ab Belt

Electric ab belt is a product that looks more or less like a cummerbund. It is charged by lithium batteries. It sends electric pulses into your body, which bring about contractions of muscles in the tummy region. Electric ab belt is to be worn only for 10 minutes, daily. Manufacturers claim that wearing this belt for 10 minutes is equivalent to doing 600 sit ups! Thus, you can burn significant number of calories without breaking a sweat.

If the manufacturer’s claims are to be believed, you should be able to get a well toned body within a couple of months time. Electric ab belt can be used anywhere, while in kitchen, in office, around house, walking etc. Besides, you can also use this equipment on other parts of the body for similar results. One can find several brands of ab belt in the range of $90 – $200. However, to choose the best ab belt, you will need a thorough ab belt comparison between various brands. Ab belt reviews should help you in choosing the best ab belt for you.

Ab Belts – Do They Work

Before you go out scouting for the best ab belt for yourself, you might want to know if the investment you are about to make is worth your money. More often than not, ab belts are nothing but a marketing gimmick. The brilliant results that you see on the models’ body is a lot of hard work. Such a fabulous body can never be achieved with ab belts alone. Experts believe that the electric pulses that these machines send in your body are not strong enough to induce significant muscle contractions.

To stimulate muscles to a satisfactory amount you need powerful electric pulses. However, not many can withstand such strong pulses. Even with mild pulses that the ab belt sends to your body, you feel a stinging sensation. So you can just imagine how much of pain you will have to endure if it were to send powerful pulses.

Another issue of concern regarding the use of ab belts is their safety. Any device which uses electric pulses on body needs approval from the FDA.
