“Wall Street” star Michael Douglas has throat cancer and will undergo eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy, his production company told The Post.
The 65-year-old Oscar winner, who kicked his half-pack-a-day habit in 2006, is expected to make a full recovery, and told People.com he’s “very optimistic.” Douglas’ company, Further Films, refused to comment further on his condition. Read the rest of this entry »

PHILADELPHIA — Researchers in Canada have detected a novel oncolytic viral therapy against prostate cancer with use of a virus called the reovirus, according to study results published in Cancer Research, a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research.
The respiratory, enteric, orphan virus (commonly known as reovirus) is a non-attenuated, environmental virus that has shown oncolytic potential against many types of cancer, specifically lymphoid, ovarian, breast, pancreatic and high grade glioma cancer, according to the study.
